Health mix Dosa or Sathu mavu Dosa is an Instant Crispy dosa made with healthmix powder and rice flour. It requires no soaking, grinding or fermenting. This healthy breakfast is made in just 15 minutes. If you want something healthy, yummy, but still with a less work in kitchen, then this is your GO TO recipe !!

When I was trying to create something instant because I was getting lot of request for instant dosa, I saw this health mix packet in my home which we rarely use and getting wasted. Since the health mix malt is not very tasty, my mom is the only one using that. So I decided to make a dosa with it and the result was amazing.
The health mix powder you buy in supermarket has many cereals and grains already in it, so there is no need to add any extra flour to bind them. However my health mix has no rice added to it. So I will be mixing it with rice flour to make it crispier. You can use whatever brand available with you or your homemade health mix powder.
This dosa tastes yum with coconut chutney, Kara chutney, peanut chutney with any spicy side dish as this dosa is a little bland.

TIPS AND NOTES
- The batter should be very thin and watery, only then you get a crispy and thin dosa.
- Any health mix has more cereals in it , so when your batter is thick, you can’t spread, as you do for regular dosa unless you add anything extra. So watery batter must be poured from outer to inner.
- Fill the gaps as we do in rava dosa. Make sure the tawa is hot enough to pour the batter.
- If the tawa is not heated, the batter becomes sticky, leaves dry patches and cracks.
- If you want some additional flavor , add cumin seeds, ginger, green chilli, coriander leaves and some grated veggies to enhance the taste.
- If you feel your health mix dosa is not as crispy as you need, add 2-3 tbsp of rava and give it a mix.
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS WITH PHOTO
- To a bowl add rice flour and health mix powder. My health mix powder has no rice in it. So I use rice flour. However for more crispiness, you can add Rava or Rice flour.
- Add salt as required. If you are adding the add-on mentioned in the recipe, you can add at this point and mix. I am making it plain.
- Add water and mix well without any lumps. It should be watery and thin for pouring.
- In a hot Dosa Tawa , pour the watery batter from outer to inner. It will have small pours. Only fill the big pours with batter.
- Drizzle some oil and let it cook till it becomes crispy. Don’t try to flip in between.
- Once it’s cooked and become crispy , flip it to other side. Cook for a minute.
- Your super easy healthy and crispy breakfast is ready to serve. Happy Eating!!.
